Photo Gallery | Selma celebrates new High School

As a member of the class of 1985 from Selma High School it was great to see the new high school on Sunday. The $27 million investment should bring this community together.

According to the officials on hand, it was a team effort to make it happen. The Selma community turned out in hundreds to see it unveiled.

Christmas Green said it best when she said, "Selma you have a new school, now let's get a new attitude to go with it and let's all of us come together and enjoy it." Green was a speaker at the event as an alumni of the school.

" I wished we had this when we were in school," said Markayla Hopkins and Amber Craig, alums of class of 2009. "It will make a difference in the students' attitude and they will learn more. We hope it will bring a diverse group back to the school."

I agree with them on this. When you get something new it changes your attitude to a positive one, and you can learn more when you have a clean, safe environment to do it in.

Enjoy these pictures I took of the event. The school is a state of the art building and is open to the public to use and the public will be paying for it so you may as well use it and enjoy it and celebrate with those who made it happen.

Selma High students enjoy your new school and take care of it with pride. GO SAINTS!!!!!!!
