Body located in Macon County identified | News

MACON CO., AL (WSFA) - Authorities in Macon County say they have identified the body of a man that was located in a field in the White Church community.

Macon County Sheriff David Warren says the body found on November 23 is that of 23-year-old Antonio Sims Jackson.

Investigators say Jackson was the victim of a gunshot wound - they believe he was dead for five days before the landowner found him in the field.

Authorities have talked to Jackson's relatives but at this point they have no leads in the case. The ABI has been asked to assist with the investigation.
